Rules & Safety


MMA Rules

– Fight Times:
Junior fights 3×1 minute rounds, Exhibition fights 3×2 minute rounds, Title fights 3×3 minute rounds.
– Competitors can win the bout by knockout, technical knockout, submission or judges decision.
– Each round will be scored by 3 judges. Rounds are not permitted to be scored a draw.

Fouls
– Striking with the elbow or head.
– Striking to any of the following areas: groin, throat, back, back of head, knee
– Knees to the head.
– Illegal submissions include any twisting of the neck, spine or knee.
– The referee will issue warnings and disqualifications for serious offences.
– Illegal submissions include: any twisting of the neck, spine, knee or ankle.

Safety Equipment
– MMA sparring gloves — these are provided.
– Mouth guard.
– Groin guard.
– Hand wraps are not permitted.

 

K1 Kickboxing Rules

– Fight Times:
Junior fights 3×1 minute rounds, Exhibition fights 3×2 minute rounds, Title fights 3×3 minute rounds.
– Competitors can win the bout by Knockout, technical Knockout or judges decision.
– Each round will be scored by 3 judges. Rounds are not permitted to be scored as a draw.
– Three knockdowns in a single round will end the fight and be declared a technical Knockout.
– In the event of a knockdown a mandatory 8 count is in effect. This includes a standing opponent who is deemed in a dangerous condition by the referee.

Fouls
– Striking with the elbow or head.
– Striking to any of the following areas: groin, throat, back, back of head, knee,
– Knees to the head.
– Multiple knees in the clinch (one knee at a time is permitted) The referee will issue warnings and disqualifications for serious offences.
– Throwing, locking and sweeping is not permitted.

Safety Equipment
– Boxing gloves for kids (8oz) — these are provided.
– Boxing gloves for adults (12oz) — these are provided.
– Thai shin pads — these are provided.
– Mouth guard.
– Groin guard.
– Hand wraps are permitted.
